Memory usage should really be optimized. Adding a setting to limit
the undo histrory would be good. Using 3GB of ram is not a good thing after only 5 minutes of use

This should be a call also a multiselect... when some selection is already made, when holding, say, Ctrl and making another selection, the previous one is not discarded but now should be selected both regions - union of them. This should work for both overlapping and not-overlapping regions. Similarly, when holding, say, Shift+Ctrl, previous selection should be partially bitten - substracted... This features are well known from gimp and other tools

I like working with multiple images and not having to tab between them.

With a Windows system, I use Paint Shop Pro (versions 8 and 12) for most of my graphics. Newer versions of PSP have become unusable for the way I work, and I desperately want, and need, a new program to take its place.

From what I have seen so far, Paint.NET (for Windows) and Pinta (For Linux) are my best hopes.

GIMP is okay, but I am not fond of their limitation of one-color-at-a-time. I feel handicapped with GIMP.

For me, if Pinta could use gimp or photoshop brushes it would become a real powerful tool.

include features from GraphicsGale like 'custom grid size', 'snap to grid', add dithering for pencil tool, add connect line and curve line, flip horizontal for the magic wand icon, change the arrow cursor with icon for the tool that have no icon like pencil, eraser, etc.

As a digital artist I'd love to see this feature implemented. This single tool would make a major difference to the type of art that can be created with Pinta. Even just a basic one with basic parameters could make it's graphic capabilites more versatile.

Just add a field to the erase toolbar. I guess the title is enough explicit :)

When copying and pasting, it defaults the pasted selection to the top-left of the screen. This is annoying if you are zoomed in, you must zoom out, and then drag to where it needs to be, and then zoom back in to get it precise. It would be nice if the pasted selection goes to the top-right of whatever your zoomed view is, like in paint.

i real porable mod which saves all temporary files (if where are tem files) on the stick and dont needs to change something in the registry or needs extra programs to work. and compatiblity with photoshop is importend for me.
i didnt tryed it now but im using paint net since longer time (ant it didnt haves an portable version).

I use PCBSD which is an easy to use BSD OS for home users and it would be wonderful to have Pinta available for it. PCBSD uses the PBI (push button install) package to install applications. There are instructions on how to create PBIs at their website. PCBSD has a linux compatibility layer so many linux applications should compile and work, however being an average user, I'd prefer a binary package. Pinta sounds like an awesome program, I really hope it becomes available for more OS, so that anyone can enjoy it.
