  I've implemented this feature (https://github.com/PintaProject/Pinta/commit/4300d6406972b7d11ab2282d84658c33070e35e9), and it should be in Pinta 1.5 (it's a little too close to the 1.4 release to be adding new features).

  I think Invert selection is one of the most used features in Photoshop, would be create to have this in pinta

  Just discovered pinta, it's awesome but needs invert selection.

  also missing: advanced selection options (the only available mode is replace; add/subtract should be implemented too)
